To address the need for training C.S.Milne have provided details of an in-house Gas safety Workshop suitable for laboratory technicians, maintenance engineers, production operators, mechanical handling and storage specialist, supervisors and anyone with a vested interest in safety or who is likely to be affected by the presence of gas and gas cylinders.

AIM: The Gas Safety Workshop will * empower attendees to correctly and safely handle,use store and move gas and gas cylinders * empower attendees to correctly and safely use gas control and process equipment * help improve safety within participating organisation's * inform and update attendees on current codes of practice and legislation.

OBJECTIVES: To fully understand * properties and hazards of gases and cylinders * importance of product knowledge * handling, use , storage and transportation of gas cylinders * selection and use of correct gas control ,safety devices and process equipment * current legislation and codes of practice governing safety in the workplace * safe systems of work* emergency procedures.

CONTENT: Will include Codes of Practice, Current legislation and what it means to you, Gas cylinder handling,storage.type's of gases,connecting the cylinders to the system,Gas cylinders in vehicles,vans and cars - safety and legal requirements.

Pre-use checks and annual inspection of gas equipment and systems.

There will be demonstrations and attendee participation in practical activity,Identifying the gas.

ASSESMENT: Multiple-choice questionnaire,course evaluation and feedback,all successful candidates will receive a certificate of attendance.

The C.S.Milne Gas Safety Workshop with its practical element is suitable for up to ten participants, greater numbers will compromise safety as well as opportunity for attendees to maximise on the benefits of practical hands-on activity.
